NGC6992, known as the Network Nebula, is the eastern portion of the large Veil Nebula. North is toward the upper-right. The Veil is the remnant of a supernova that exploded around 6,000 to 8,000 years ago. It is about 2,240 light years away in the constellation Cygnus. There is also a central portion, NGC6979, known as Williamina Fleming's Triangular Wisp, and a western portion designated NGC6960.
